I am a Designer, Manager, Educator and Consultant in the Mid-Atlantic region, focusing on design and management for small to mid-sized theatres. I am the Technical Director and a Teaching Artist for the Lab School of Washington, and a company member of Flying V Theatre, where I designed the scenery for the Helen Hayes-nominated Crystal Creek Motel Project, The Secret History of the Unknown World, Matt & Ben, You or Whatever I Can Get, the Pirate Laureate series, Lobster Alice, and Science Fiction Double Feature, (as well as the lighting for All Apologies and the Fringe production of Me and the Devil Blues).
Other work includes: Adventure Theatre/MTC - the set designs for Frosty the Snowman, Three Little Birds, (in all its incarnations, including the New Victory Theatre run Off-Broadway) Lily’s Purple Plastic Purse, Flat Stanley, Strega Nona, and Rankin/Bass’ Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer; the scenery and lighting design for the IMAGINE! gala and many other "one-off" events at the Bender JCC of Greater Washington, where I was the Director of Theatre and Events for a decade and a half, the live sound design and engineering for Take The Stage for the last half-decade; other recent (-ish) designs include scenic design forFloyd Collins with First Stage, scenery for Illyria and lighting for The Tempest with WSC/Avant Bard.
Other clients and partners have included The Round House Theatre, where I designed dozens of productions and received two HH nominations for my design work, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, where I was privileged to design several world premieres, and many others. My Systems and Facilities design, Production Management, and Educational CVs are available for review.
I also do some voice acting, and have most recently appeared on stage as Darth Vader and Marl'I in readings of Wm. Shakespeare's Star Wars and A Klingon Christmas Carol. I love doing that...
