Renee Calarco is a Washington, D.C.-based playwright and lyricist. Her plays include Museum 2040 (The Kilroys List 2020), Bleed (Final 30, Samuel French OOB Festival, 2016), G-d’s Honest Truth (Winner, 2014 Jewish Playwriting Contest), The Religion Thing (2013 nominee for the Charles MacArthur Award for Outstanding New Play), Short Order Stories (2007 winner of the Charles MacArthur Award), #solestories, The Kids’ Table, a new musical, The 12 Days of Christmas, and others. Her plays have been commissioned, produced, and/or developed by The Kennedy Center, Theater J, The Jewish Plays Project, The Welders, 4615 Theater Company, Venus Theatre, Charter Theater, Project Y, Pinky Swear Productions, Adventure Theatre, and others. She was a 2018 playwright-in-residence at Serenbe Playhouse, is a founding member of The Welders (2016 winner of the John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company), and is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild.
