Leon Seemann: Arts Administrator, Consultant, Facilitator, and teacher.

Leon is lifelong believers in the power of theatre to change young people’s lives. Born and raised in the DC Metro Region, he was involved in performing arts from a young age. Leon worked at Center Stage in Baltimore for year after college before taking a year abroad. He returned to work at Studio Theatre in DC, where he served as General Manager and helped to almost double the size of the company over 8 years.

A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), Leon spent 10 years consulting and helping non-profits grow by ensuring they are “Well Funded, Well Managed, and Well Respected.” He helped over a hundred non-profits in diverse fields including arts, education, Jewish community, associations, youth, geriatric, and economic empowerment. Additionally, Leon has served on the selection committee for the AIM for Excellence Award which honors superior nonprofit management (formerly Washington Post Award for Excellence in non-profit management), and on various non-profit boards in the Greater Washington DC region.

Leon was hired as the Managing Director of Adventure Theatre in December of 2016 and has since promoted to Executive Director. In this short period of time he has worked closely with Artistic Directors, Michael Bobbitt & Chil Kong and Education Director Margo Collins, to eliminate over $300,000 in debt, restructure the ATMTC Academy, navigate an extensive rebuild from an electrical fire at the theatre, navigate Covid shut downs, and restructuring systems and processes to transition ATMTC into an anti-racist organization.
