Jaster specializes in physical expression and cross-cultural communication, conceiving and collaborating on live, participatory performances and events. Her work focuses on the humanizing potential of art. She started onstage at the age of 6 with her father, Mark Jaster, studied at the Lecoq school in Paris, and has served as an unofficial cultural ambassador in India, China, Poland, Taiwan, Mexico, and beyond. She has directed movement at Shakespeare Theater Company, The Folger Theater, Center Stage, Round House Theater, Constellation, Theater J, and others regionally and internationally. She is an Associate Artist with Heartbeat Opera in NYC and received a rave review from the NYT for her stage direction of their Lady M in 2023. She has been granted artist residencies at HERE Arts and BAX in NYC, ODC and Studio210 in San Francisco, and artist fellowships from the DCCAH and the Asian Cultural Council. She has taught at IDEO, MoMA, Cornell Tech, and University of Louisville. She is currently the Associate Director at The Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics and teaches movement at the Academy for Classical Acting.
