Stefan has a multi-disciplined theater background as a Helen Hayes Award nominated director, choreographer, fight director, movement and intimacy coach, educator, performer and podcast host.  He has been involved in 120+ productions including work in New York (Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway), internationally in Brazil, Uruguay and Canada, at various regional theatres across the US, and in most of the major theatres in the Washington, D.C. area including The Kennedy Center, Studio Theatre, Signature Theatre, Olney Theatre Center,  1st Stage, MetroStage, The Atlas Performing Arts Center, The Washington Savoyards, The American Century Theatre, Creative Cauldron, NextStop Theatre Company, Workhouse Arts Center, and many more. 

He holds a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Drama and English Literature from The University of Virginia.

He is half-Uruguayan, was raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and is a native Spanish and Portuguese speaker who is also fluent in French.  He lives in the Washington, D.C. area.  He is  a proud member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and the Latinx Theatre Commons.
