SAMBA PATHAK (he/him/his) is a proud Nepali-American arts administrator, marketer, producer, and award-winning stage manager based in the DMV. Pathak holds an MA in Arts Management and a BA in Theatre from George Mason University.
Pathak advocates for the intersection of the arts, community engagement, and effective project management. Pathak serves as the Administration and Operations Manager at Theater Alliance. His role encompasses an intersection of both artistic and administrative development, and he is active in the execution of the company's production season. He leads production management, administrative operations, digital marketing efforts, and overall company quality improvement planning. In his experience, Pathak holds project management principles and successful operations components. His successes surround various grant projects, having managed and monitored a portfolio of over five million dollars. However, beyond the logistical aspects, Pathak profoundly values the role of arts in building community resilience. He believes in integrating artistic practices into public health initiatives, recognizing the inherent capacity of theater and other creative mediums.
Previously, Pathak worked extensively as a stage manager; past credits include DC AREA: Type One-Derful (Stage Manager, Workhouse Arts Center), Junk (Rehearsal Stage Manager, Silver Spring Stage), The Road to the End (Stage Manager, DC Capital Fringe), NextStop Theatre: In the Heights (Sub ASM), Ordinary Days (Sub ASM), The Mountaintop (Projections Design). THEATRE WEST: Little Shop of Horrors (ASM), The Play That Goes Wrong (Stage Manager), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (PSM).
Additionally, Pathak was the Director of Marketing, PR, and Communications for companies specializing in product merchandising. In this role, he led marketing teams, oversaw department budgeting, and executed communication strategies to communicate with internal partners and external consumers. Pathak also worked as a Marketing/Publicity Manager and Producer for theater companies in the Washington DC metropolitan area. His primary focus was working on brand awareness, marketing campaigns for individualized musical productions, and data analytics management. He continues to work on freelance projects to support theatrical innovation and brand development.
