Nessa Amherst

Front of House Staff

Nessa Amherst is a DC-area based actor & writer, who currently resides in Silver Spring, MD. She has performed with numerous theatre companies and organizations throughout the DMV, including The John F. Kennedy Center of Performing Arts, 1st Stage, Rorschach Theatre, Transformation Theatre, Globe Openstage, Endangered Species Theatre Project, Quarantine Queens Theatre Company, Voices Festival Productions, JaYo Théâtre, Rockville Little Theatre, and Silver Spring Stage. She also had the opportunity to perform in New York City with National Queer Theater & the Lincoln Center in The Survival as part of the Criminal Queerness Festival, as well as with Chicago's A Theater in the Dark in A Murder in the Court of Xanadu.

Her original monologue, Define "Black," has been published in the anthology 08:46: Fresh Perspectives, which is available to purchase on Amazon.

When she's not performing onstage, you can find Nessa at Imagination Stage as a patron services associate and Round House Theatre as a house manager/box office associate. Nessa is a proud member of Actors Equity Association, and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with an interdisciplinary degree in Theatre, Music Performance, and Media Studies in 2011.
