She now works full-time at Voices for a Second Chance(VSC), a social service agency based in Washington, DC. During her schooling, she was introduced to Voices for a Second Chance (VSC), a non-profit organization that provides services to returning citizens and, justice-involved individuals. Over her 4+ years with VSC, her responsibilities expanded within the organization and, she now  serves as the Special Projects Manager.
During her time with VSC, she has helped in developing new programs, initiatives and, has raised community-based awareness about the incredible work of VSC. Her commitment and passion in working within social services continues to grow significantly.
She has found that she has developed a dual passion for theatre and, social services. Her dedication in both fields  inspired her to merge the two, in a documentary film short she curated for her thesis at The New School that centered around individuals who were incarcerated for 20+ years. She looks forward to sharing the film very soon. In the meantime, Jayla is preparing for her Master of Fine Arts(MFA) and continuing her work within the justice system with VSC.
