Join Farrell Parker of Artist Tax Prep as she prepares you to prepare your taxes for the 2022 year. We'll cover the differences between deductions, tax credits, and business expenses; who can be a Qualified Performing Artist; what you can really write off (Schedule C); setting aside the right amount for self-employment taxes; DMV-area specific credits; and options for filing.
This is part of The Actors' Center programming events and is free to all current members.
About Artist Tax Prep and Farrell Parker
Artist Tax Prep's mission is to eliminate the panic and shame that many experience as part of the annual income tax filing process, by way of affordable, sustainable tax preparation services. Founded in DC by a self-employed artist, Artist Tax Prep is particularly positioned to serve independent artists and others striving, surviving, and thriving in the gig economy.
Artist Tax Prep is an IRS-certified Tax Preparer, Annual Filing Season Program participant and a legally registered and insured business. We at Artist Tax Prep want all clients to feel they are in a safe space working with us.
Farrell Parker is a DC-based performing artist and tax preparer. She holds a BS in Business Administration from Boston University, a graduate certificate in Digital Media Skills from American University, and an MFA from the Shakespeare Theatre Company Academy at George Washington University. A New Jersey native, Farrell has performed all over the DMV-area including at Arena Stage, Olney Theatre Center, and with The Second City (among many others). Most recently, she happily developed and debuted two world-premiere TYA musicals at the Kennedy Center (The Mortification of Fovea Munson and Acoustic Rooster's Barnyard Boogie). A past Helen Hayes-nominee in both acting and writing categories, she has the song "Filling out the Form" from [title of show] stuck in her head every time she does a tax return. www.artisttaxprep.com www.farrellparker.com
