This course is designed to improve student performance in all the major aspects of auditioning for the theatre: monologues, cold readings, and “in the room” demeanor – whether for in-person auditions or for Zoom or video auditions, which are certainly here to stay. The emphasis is on practical skill-building, making the most of your rehearsal time, and overcoming psychological and emotional barriers to giving your best performance.

Students working singly or in pairs in front of the class will be allowed to wear clear plastic masks similar to face shields, provided by The Theatre Lab, for the duration of their presentation. Everyone must wear regular masks–ideally N95 or KN95–except when presenting work for the class.
