DC Actors for Animals is back with their 7th Annual "Beltway Barks" this Sat, Sept. 14 at the Rockville Town Square (11am-3pm with show/presentation of animals 11am-2pm). Features dozens of adoptable dogs from area rescues/shelters and DC-area actors presenting wonderful dogs for adoption and performing songs - plus many vendors including pet retailers, veterinary and training staff, pet portrait artists, pet bakers, face painters, and even a pooch kissing booth! A raffle will feature over a dozen pair of theatre tickets to the hottest shows in the DC Metro area, as well as wonderful gift baskets and merchandise from local retailers.

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company begins their run of Pulitzer Prize winning play FAIRVIEW, as with all productions, with 2 Pay-What-You-Will shows, Sept 9 & 10. Tonight's Sept 9 PWYW performance has sold out on TodayTix - but they'll have 20 Standing Room Only and 15 Stampede seats available at the box office starting at 6pm. Are you an Arlington high schooler interested in a theatre career? "Signature in the Schools" is a theatrical training program unlike any other. The chance to be in a world premiere production, written, directed and staged by professional theater artists. Any high school student currently enrolled in an Arlington County public high school is eligible to apply for both acting and technical positions. No experience necessary – they’ll teach you on the job! Students interested in auditioning or interviewing for Signature in the Schools are welcome to attend on September 27 beginning at 4PM at Signature Theatre.

Olney Theatre Center's "Cabaret" begins performances Aug 28, but they'll also take a historic overview of the Weimar Republic’s rise and cultural impact on women, LGBTQ+ Berliners, and Jews, as well as its decline, leading to the Nazi seizure of power at "Behind-The-Scenes: From the Weimar Republic to Now" Sat, August 31. 5pm. It'll explore how that narrative resonates today with Georgetown Professor Katrin Sieg and Dr. Jake Newsome of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. $10 admission.
