Full-Time Program Position Open at Theatre Washington

Theatre Washington has recently created a new position, Program Manager, to strengthen our service and support for the theatre community. The Program Manager will manage, facilitate, evaluate, and lead the strategic growth of Theatre Washington’s signature programs.

This position will increase Theatre Washington’s engagement with theatre makers, theatre institutions, and theatre audiences; further refine and develop programs to meet the community’s needs; and expand innovative offerings, resources, and platforms over time. They will ensure Theater Washington is the go-to resource about theatre in the region, including updating website content to host all industry news and events, including productions, job opportunities, announcements, and classes. They will participate in and lead alongside the staff, board, and volunteers’ pursuit of anti-racist and anti-oppressive structural and programmatic changes within Theatre Washington and broader theatre community.

The ideal candidate for this role is proactive, excited by the opportunity to work in partnership with regional theatre makers, and committed to creating a nationally recognized, equitable and inclusive theatre community. They will have several years of experience in program development, strategic partnerships, community engagement, event management, or similar roles. They will steward current partnerships and cultivate new relationships to further Theatre Washington’s commitment to dissembling structural racism in the theatre community. They are excited by how collective action is challenging and a way forward.

The Program Manager reports to Theatre Washington’s President and CEO, and work in close partnership with staff and contractors, as well as the active Board of Directors and expansive volunteer committees. There are no direct supervisory responsibilities at this time.

This position is based in Washington, DC. Theatre Washington’s staff has been working remotely and plans to create a hybrid model of office and telework.

Status:             Full-time, exempt employee
Salary:             $61,000 – $66,000
