Garcia Lorca’s poetic language soars in this contemporary take on a classic tale about a childless Spanish peasant and her rage against the oppression of a loveless marriage and repressive society. Here the violence that erupts is a universal outcry by “modern” women who continue to suppress their innermost desires. The powerful Spanish guest actress Mabel del Pozo will grace our stage commanding the leading role, under the guidance of innovative theatre director from Madrid, José Luis Arellano.
