Whipping, or The Football Hamlet

A young black professional quarterback gets his start in a high-stakes playoff game and discovers the system is rigged against him:  the referee makes biased calls, the commentators whitewash his efforts to make unconventional plays, and his teammates keep disappearing.  Are a white female sideline reporter, a blue collar beer man, and a temporally displaced Union soldier the allies he needs to make the game fair?  WHIPPING uses an absurdist mash-up of HAMLET and the NFL to create a bleakly comic commentary on race, class, and gender in modern America.
