Opening Performance

Enter the dream this summer where Folger Theatre imagines A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Shakespeare’s most magical and beloved comedy. We are building The Playhouse from the ground up inside the soaring atrium of the National Building Museum. In this theater, young lovers will frolic, fairies will spread magic, and the hilarious machinations of mechanical players will enchant theatergoers with a delightful and romantic dream.

Directed by Victor Malana Maog and featuring Jacob Ming-Trent (Public Theater's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" and HBO's "Re-Opening Night") as Bottom, Renea Brown as Helena, Danaya Esperanza as Puck, and Lilli Hokama (Folger Theatre's "Amadeus") as Hermia.

Produced in association with the National Building Museum and the University of South Carolina.
