Metamorphosis

Adapted from Franz Kafka’s original story by Steven Berkoff, further adapted by Susan Galbraith as a multi-media work of music-theatre. Alliance for New Music-Theatre presents a dark and comical interpretation of Franz Kafka’s iconic work through the lens of this season’s theme, The Outsider’s Outsider. This highly collaborative and eclectic performance, combining movement, singing, and speech to explore Kafka’s relevance to today’s American audiences. The musical world of this music-theatre adaptation of Metamorphosis includes soundscapes, vocal improvisations, live cello and animations, inspired by Kafka’s drawings, that interact with the actors to convey Kafka's vivid artistic imagination.
