Jasen Hengst
Performance Dates

An untitled performance the experimental composer John Cage organized at Black Mountain College in 1952 is regarded as the first "Happening" and was a seminal performance in the evolution of Neo-Dada in its paving the way for the movement's collaborative and multimedia works. In 1960, he reworked it as this joyful, abstract circus entitled Theatre Piece.  See this exciting kaleidoscope of simultaneous performances capturing the playful indeterminacy John Cage was so brilliant at conveying.  Admission is free.
