If you are a Washington, DC-area theatre professional – on stage or off– currently residing and working (or have in the past two years) in the Washington, DC-area, and are dealing with an unforeseen medical or personal emergency, you may apply to the Taking Care Fund. Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis, due by the 5th of each month. Grants are awarded to applicants with the greatest need based on the information provided on the application. Funding is available in grants ranging from $500 to $2,500, with the average grant estimated to be $1,500. Applicants can reapply as many times as needed, and can receive up to $5,000 per calendar year.
