
Trained in music and dance at the Irish World Music Centre (University of Limerick), in modern dance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and in acting at American Conservatory Theater, Nicholas Yenson (he/him) is a rare true triple threat.
Born and raised in the DC area, he has appeared in The Taming of the Shrew (Shakespeare Theatre Company); King of the Yees, Pacific Overtures, Soft Power, and Miss Saigon (Signature Theatre); Red Hot Patriot, Anything Goes, The Music Man, and You, Nero (Arena Stage); and Of Mice and Men and Sylvia (Firebelly Productions). His New York credits include Ghostlight (NYMF) and Alligator Summer (Squeaky Bicycle). His regional work includes As You Like It (SF Playhouse), Port City (American Conservatory Theater), A Christmas Carol (McCarter), Picnic (Hampton Theatre Company), The House of Blue Leaves (Wellesley Rep), Marianas Trench (Portland Stage), and many more.
His concert work has taken him all around the world, including the Espaço das Américas (São Paulo), Qantas Arena (Sydney), Radio City Music Hall (NYC), and the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane (West End).
An accomplished dancer, Nicholas was in the corps of Riverdance for several years, touring North America and Ireland, including Dublin's Gaiety Theatre. In the DC area, Nicholas was an apprentice with DTSBCo. Nicholas has trained extensively in the style of Bob Fosse, including acting as a demonstrator for the Verdon Fosse Legacy's online classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019 he was honored to perform Fosse's original choreography for "Big Spender" as part Broadway Backwards, a benefit for BCEFA and The LGBT Center at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre.
