LaMae Caparas is a Filipino-American performing artist and creative director, seamlessly blends her diverse background in Broadway, dance, choreography, and community organizing to craft immersive healing art experiences. She's graced Broadway stages, created for TV, and even appeared in TV and films like Across The Universe and In The Heights.
Her experience in the physical arts includes an extensive career as a featured Broadway Musical performer in award winning shows such as The Lion King, a soloist in the First National Tour of Fosse, Lincoln Center’s South Pacific and The King and I directed by Bartlett Sher where she performed the role of Eliza. She has performed at the White House for Star Wars’ The Clone Wars, performed as the stunt/dance double for the lead role of Yoshimi in the World premiere of Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots.
She has also choreographed for the stage, TV, and Burning Man, and traveled overseas with Soulciety as a youth outreach program mentor. She has coached kids as young as 6, competitive dancers and non dancers, to professional adult artists. She enjoys choreographing in all styles and has traveled the US teaching master classes. LaMae can be seen dancing in the Warner Bros. feature film version of Lin Manual Miranda’s Broadway musical, In The Heights, Directed by Jon Chu and choreographed by Christopher Scott.
