Since 2015, Lights, Theatre, Action! has been presenting controversial, American history plays written by Virginia playwright James F. Bruns. All premiered at the Washington D.C. Capital Fringe, Baltimore’s Charm City Festivals and the Philadelphia Fringe. Using mainly amateur actors from Virginia, Maryland and the District the company has garnered multiple ‘Best of Fringe’ nominations. Starting with, American Lit described as “serious and intriguing” by the WASHINGTON POST. After that was Fatherland, a look back at the desperation of German Americans on the outset of WWII. In 2016, Confederates the first play in his Trilogy of the Confederacy called “compelling” by DCist magazine. And then two years later was the provocative work, Black Confederates described as "eye-opening and relevant to today" by BROADWAY WORLD.  In 2017, a revisiting of the JFK assassination called Lancer and Lace reviewed as, “gripping and a solid dramatic concept” by DC THEATRE SCENE. In 2019, Caribbean Command an Iraq War drama viscerally hated by the critics was presented. Although, in 2020 the first act of this play called The Volunteer was performed at the Salem State University Veterans Ten Minute Play Festival. In 2023, The Volunteer was published in Mumbai, India in the Qutub Minar Review, an international anthology of short plays. In 2023 came the final play in the Trilogy of the Confederacy.  Alas, Confederates a drama about the 3rd day at Gettysburg,  which premiered at the Arden Theatre during the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.  His play Acropolis was published in 2025 in the anthology tribute inspired by Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.  And in September, 2025 the Mini Plays Review an international anthology published his  monologue called, The Confessions of a J6er.
