Holden Gunster is Scenic Designer in the DC area.
He holds a BA Theatre Design/Technology with a concentration in Scenic Design and Technical Direction from Binghamton University (SUNY). His work as a TD has proven incredibly beneficial when he must engineer or build some portions of his own design.
Before the COVID-19 Pandemic, Holden was Designing in NYC, working on various projects from intimate plays in 40-person rooms to large musicals in 500-seat music halls. The pandemic pushed him to move back to the Washington, D.C. area where he is now once again freelancing as a Scenic Designer.
Holden has a passion for new works, specifically those that address and confront the uncomfortable and systemic issues of our society. Although he's not afraid of designing for some dancing letters as well.
Outside of theatre, Holden enjoys woodworking, his beautiful partner, and watching professional wrestling, which he refers to as "televised absurdist theatre with intense fight choreography." Pretty catchy.
