Brett Womack is a Virginia-based multidisciplinary artist, who acts, writes plays and musicals, composes scores, directs, and more. Brett has been engrossed in the worlds of theatre and music since a young age. Brett currently attends George Mason University in Fairfax, VA and is pursuing a B.A.M. in Secondary Education, after receiving a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre and a B.A. in Mathematics in 2025 from Mason. In academic year 2024/25, Brett served as the Company Manager of the The GhostLight Players, a student organization at Mason promoting the interests of theatre students and running their own series of staged readings, after having served as Marketing Manager for two years. Brett has also been working in youth theatre education through Acting For Young People in Fairfax and the Academy Center of the Arts in Lynchburg, VA since the start of 2023. Notable written works include The Peak, a one-act musical expanding on the canon of Greek mythology through the lens of Albert Camus's Myth of Sisyphus, which debuted as a part of The GhostLight Series in April 2024 and transferred to Workhouse Performing Arts Center's New Works Festival that August, and will be appearing at Endstation Theatre's Central Virginia Fringe Festival in June 2025; Men on a Girder, a song cycle about the famous "Lunch atop a Skyscraper" photograph, premiering in September 2024 in The Mason Players' Originals! at GMU; The Moss Deathbed Plays, an unreality piece about prophets, playwrights, and presentations, premiering in March 2025 in The GhostLight Series; among others. Brett has also composed scores for The Road to the End by Bella Panciocco, which played at GMU in April 2023 as well as the Capital Fringe Festival that summer; fallen by Theresa Ohanian, which played at GMU in November 2023; Twelve Ophelias by Caridad Svich, which played at GMU in February 2024 and served as Brett's directorial debut; Dissonant, a short film by Kevin Murray; among others.
