"A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is Shakespeare at his most playfully chaotic. Four young lovers wander into the woods, where a group of fairies—who really should not be in charge of anything—decide to intervene in their relationships. Thanks to one well-meaning but unreliable sprite, everyone ends up briefly in love with the wrong person. Meanwhile, a troupe of very sincere (and very untalented) actors attempts to stage a play.
By morning, things are mostly sorted out, dignity is lightly bruised, and the whole experience feels a bit like a dream no one can quite explain.
This interactive, fun, outdoor production will be staged at Historic London Town & Gardens in Edgewater, MD, produced in partnership with Compass Rose Theater. Students ages 10-18 are encouraged to apply!
