Join McLean Fletcher as she returns to the Actors' Center!

2023 is waiting in the wings and provides actors the opportunity to realign themselves with new goals. Goals are more easily achieved when their underlying need is understood. Where do artistic needs come from? The answer is simple and also complex: our needs are born from our values. McLean Fletcher has developed this candid discussion-based workshop which focuses on values and artistic integrity. Actors are told what to say, where to stand, what to wear, and what story to tell, so they can easily become what feels like a "shill for a machine." Oftentimes actors are called to the arts because they are trying to escape this fate but can then find themselves feeling without a voice. This workshop aims to bring the actor back to the root of their career and artistic intent, so to better prepare themselves for the year ahead.

McLean Fletcher is an existential and introspective storyteller whose work explores spirituality, sexuality, and psychology. Inspired by the classics and the hero's journey, she believes in humanity against all odds. With an MFA in Shakespeare from George Washington University and two decades working in the arts professionally, McLean shares her unique, evocative vision with her students. She is a writer, visual artist, and actor on stage and film. mcleanfletcher.com
