Use your improv and acting skills to present medical conditions to a team of medical students who then must use their training for the diagnosis. The work can be steady, the pay pretty good. But what's really involved? Is it something you'd be comfortable doing? And, if so, where do you sign up?

This is for all AC members, regardless of specialty or experience, aged 18+.

This is a presentation, not a demonstration. Carol will provide details about Standardized Patient work so that you can decide if this is a field you'd like to pursue. Each participant will receive a list of contacts at all the area medical schools.

Carol Randolph has worked as a Standardized Patient at several area med schools, primarily Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Silver Spring, since 2007. She also has nine years' experience as a Physical Exam Teaching Associate (PETA) at USUHS. Carol's acting credits include performances at Olney Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Co., 1st Stage, Chesapeake Shakespeare Co., and Maryland Ensemble Theatre - in addition to film and commercial work.

Note: These are estimated start and end times for this workshop based off of the information that will be covered. Depending on the number of students and other factors outside of the Actors' Center control, this workshop may end earlier or go later than the listed time. We will do our best to keep all students updated with any changes.
