The Puppet Co. is a puppetry based theatre in Glen Echo Park in Glen Echo, MD. After our pandemic closure, we reopened in late September 2021 and have been presenting a mix of tried and true Legacy productions and brand new Premiere productions ever since, with no reported covid cases! We hope you'll join us at auditions as we continue to grow our artistic community and partnerships.

We are holding open call non-equity auditions for productions performing November, 2022 to September, 2023. This call is for Mainstage Legacy and Mainstage Premier shows, whose audience is mostly children 4-5+ and their adults. Mainstage shows are based on fairy tales, classics, and cultural celebrations, and run 45-55 minutes.

Most performances are Thursday - Sunday matinees, though the winter holiday shows have a larger schedule. Rehearsals can be scheduled day or evening, depending on cast availability, and are usually Thursday-Sunday.

Auditionees will be instructed in operation/stylization of some of the Puppet Co.'s puppets, including rods and marionettes, and asked to interact with others during their audition block. A prepared speech, monologue, or book reading of no more than 2 minutes is also appreciated, though not required.

Auditions will be May 25 and May 26, in 90 minute blocks. Please indicate your top 2 time choices, selecting from 2pm, 3:30pm, 5pm, 6:30pm either day. We will add additional earlier audition blocks as needed. May 27 will be callbacks, organized by possible casting combinations with a mind to auditionee availability.
