Theatre Description
"Building Bridges Across the River improves the quality of life for children and adults who reside East of the Anacostia River by providing leadership, management and financial oversight of the Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Campus (THEARC), 11th Street Bridge Park, THEARC Farm, THEARC Theater and Skyland Workforce Center. Through these projects, BBAR uses a multi-sector approach to address significant social, health, environmental & economic disparities that exist in DC.

THEARC is a key part of the revitalization of the Congress Heights Neighborhood area East of the (Anacostia) River in Washington, DC. THEARC Theater and Black Box provides subsidized access to venue spaces for creative placemaking and community arts and culture experiences and is home to the largest youth workforce development program the iCAN Technical Theater Internship.

Since 2005, THEARC has provided children and adults living East of the Anacostia River access to high-quality yet low-cost or free programs and services in the fields of education, music, art, dance, health and social services.
