Longtime friends and collaborators, Mariposa Fonsenca and Julia Steele Allen, wrote a play through a prison wall after Mariposa had been sentenced to fifteen months of solitary confinement. Over the course of three years, they wrote letters to each other, which resulted in this urgent and emotional story.
