Beautiful Thing

Performance Dates

Beautiful Thing is Jonathan Harvey's romantic play about that first and, perhaps, greatest love. Two London working-class teenage boys begin a relationship -- first as neighbors, then friends and finally, as lovers. Making a relationship succeed is hard enough, but when friends and family throw in their two cents and drama, the struggle gets harder. Harvey's tender romantic dramedy became a hit when it debuted in 1993 and the story of shy Jamie and hard-scrabble Ste was adapted into a critically-acclaimed 1996 film. Now, Rainbow Theatre Project brings a staged reading of this love story to D.C.'s Source. One night only!!
