We just saw Zorro last night and it was wonderful evening of light entertainment. It was funny, action packed, and thoroughly enjoyable. Carlos Saldena as Sergeant Gonzales and Carlos Juan Gonzalez as Don Carlos Pulido are stand outs as comic actors and Danny Gavigan is so good as Don Alejandro de la Vega its hard to believe he's any different in real life. The script and cast add much more humor to this often told story than I expected, but the play is not a farce. The characters of our hero and his nemisis the Captain show depth and development and the serious themes of the drama about whether and how to take a stand against corruption and oppression hit home. The Captain is delicious as a cocky young man confusing power with manliness. Jim Jorgensen is an amusing wimp as Don Diego de la Vega iand dashing as his alter ego Zorro. Thanks, Constellation Theater for another enjoyable evening.
