Laramie Project

10/09/2018 - 7:30pm - 10:00pm

The Theatre Lab’s Acting in A Professional Production class presents four free staged readings this fall. The readings are centered around plays of social justice and include some of the DC areas most notable actors. The third reading in the series is Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theatre Project.

A captivating piece of contemporary theatre, this play shows the events of and reactions to the murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay university student, in Laramie, Wyoming in 1988. Based on interviews, it looks at the discrimination, violence, and compassion found in the effects of this terrible hate crime. This performance is directed by José Carrasquillo with the appearance of guest actor Carlos Saldaña.
Please note: This play contains mature language and descriptions of violence.

The performance will take place at 6:30pm on October 9th and will be held at the Washington Stage Guild (900 Massachusetts Ave NW).
