Sara Barker recently appeared as Vanessa/Charlotte with Rorschach Theater in The Gallerist. Also with Rorschach, she played Lily in This Storm is What We Call Progress. Sara’s favorite roles include Queen Elizabeth in Mary Stuart and Jackie-O in The House of Yes with Washington Shakespeare Company (now WSC Avant Bard) and Factory 449’s award-winning production of 4.48 Psychosis. Also with WSC Avant Bard, Sara played Varya in The Cherry Orchard, Hotspur in The Mistorical Hystery of Henry (I)V, the title role in Lulu, La Fleche in The Miser, and Hermes/Gralea in Peace. She also recently played Algernon in Scena Theatre's The Importance of Being Earnest. In New York, Sara’s favorite roles include the title role in King Lear with The Brick Theater, Paulina in The Winter's Tale with Hipgnosis Theatre, the Woman in Limitless Joy with Josh Fox's International WOW Company, and Bevil Coffin in Anton Dudley’s Pleaching the Coffin Sisters at Ensemble Studio Theatre. Also in NYC, she played Nurse Meg in Death Might be Your Santa Claus with Stillpoint Productions, and Laura in Between Worlds with the Chekhov Theatre Ensemble. Sara graduated from St. John’s College, Annapolis (where, as a freshman, she played Emilia in The Winter’s Tale in which John Michael played Leontes). Sara is a member of WSC Avant Bard’s acting company, and a founding company member of Factory 449. Sara lives in Arlington with her husband Richard and their dog Tybalt. www.sarabarker/com/acting
